On April 25th, 2024, Fu Ning made its entrance at One15 Marina in Sentosa Cove. This event was an important step in our mission to promote and preserve traditional Chinese maritime culture.
The day began with a welcome speech from Mr Lin Chang Jiu, the owner of Fu Ning, who shared his vision and enthusiasm for the Fu Ning project. Following the speech, attendees were treated to a lively lion dance performed on the boat, symbolizing good luck and prosperity, adding a festive atmosphere to the occasion.
Guests then gathered for a comprehensive presentation to learn about the construction process of Fu Ning. The presentation delved into the boat’s story, inspiration and the rich history of Chinese maritime heritage, including the famous journeys of the famous explorer Zheng He.
Following these provided insights, attendees were given a guided tour of the boat. This tour allowed them to see the unique design and craftsmanship up close, with a detailed guide explaining various aspects of the boat’s architecture and historical importance. to conclude the event, everyone enjoyed a variety of snacks and drinks on board, creating a friendly environment for networking and conversation.
Singapore, with its rich Chinese cultural presence and strategic location, served as the perfect backdrop for Fu Ning’s arrival. The city’s blend of tradition and modernity provided an ideal setting to showcase the boat’s significance. By celebrating Fu Ning, the event underscored the importance of ensuring that the stories and skills of the past continue to inspire future generations.
